WOW is world of warcraft or some such nonsense that turns 20-30 year olds into zombies playing an online game for 8-10 hour sessions
I understand that a lot of Jolt Cola is involved

Or, I guess these days it might be Red Bull

@ BTW, on the belt sanding; is that where these guys come from?

My wife says they look like rats!

The jury is still out, I am waiting on more results from the new samsung's,
all I want is a burner than can burn as good as my benq and nec's and scan
            and read well.

It's not every day you get to play with a pre-production Blu-ray burner, but the team at Germany's CT Magazine were able to get their hands on a Samsung SH-B022, and liked what they saw. The burner, which doesn't have AACS copy-protection, was able to burn a 25GB disc in about 43 minutes, and had no trouble playing a range of CDs and DVDs. The reviewers also found that the drive didn't generate as much heat as some other models they've tested; it reached a manageable 107 degrees after a burn. The final model is due out in April for about $500, and will include copy protection, along with the ability to write double-layer 50GB discs.[Via I4U]

              This one?

Chewy, this is what I think (just dont believe all the thing I think )

half of Benq engineers went to Samsung and the other half went to Pioneer after Lighton took over

I noticed that my local computer shop don't sell Necs any more. They are replaced with Samsungs. Those guys normally know what they do. I have to say I have not seen much of Samsung burners before in Sweden. The automatic updater for firmware looks as a nice function.

                  They still cary the LiteOns.

Well I got in one of my moods and tore my shop down, got the leaf blower out and blew it out(nice windy day) then after I hooked my main computer back up rememebered the nec, opened the drive tray and shut down windows.

Blew the heck out of it, done the computer earlier. Might have to hold on to this drive a little longer?

Wow, can't argue with a scan like that! Do you just blow compressed air in the tray opening & thats it? I thought that may damage internal parts, but looks like it can only improve things!

1HP 3 Gallon 120 psi air compressor(runs small nail guns and staplers) with jet nozzle, I figured since this was the second time it happened I would go for broke and really let it have it, you can't get a good angle with the tray in the way so you really can't blow the laser off it's mounting. Rescanned the disk in my benq, the pif total was 58. I am going to do the other 3 burners next.
real easy on the newer benq

That's really something...wonder how many folks trash-can their drives, when all it needs is a good blast of compressed air?!?

                          Thanks for sharing the experience!

That is one of the best PIF totals I have seen, nice job Chewy!
Nice to know it is safe to do that, gonna give my 3550 a good cleaning too.
