    DVD+R or DVD-R BETTER?

I've been making backups for about a year now. I originally bought DVD-R discs because the Best Buy salesperson said they were the better format. Recently I went to Circuit City and the salesperson said DVD+R was the more up-to-date format and the one that was the most compatible with a variety of DVD players. I noticed that none of my DVD players will read the Verbatim 16x DVD-R....but will will read the Verbatim DVD+R.

What's the verdict on the + R - R debate. Is one a better format with the newer model dvd players????

    Thanks,
    Smiley

dvd+because they can be bitset.and have more in common with dvd-rom.although most modern players ''should'' play both but not always.

course bitsetting depends if your drive will support it, and -R holds a mind boggling 6MB more data

Buy the one that your DVD player will play. Or that your drive will burn.

        It depends on your circumstances.

        Personally speaking, +R.

            Hi smiley,
I use both; modern DVD players most always play both + & - without a hitch. IMHO more important to choose quality media such as Verbatims or TY.

EDIT: Oh, & never believe what the salesperson tells you

            @ L.T., is that a recent pic?!?

              My thoughts exactly.

Stop picking on LT, maybe he just has a slow metabolism.
