seen better verbs and much worse

crosscheck quality(don't waste any more disks) with your other burners to get a baseline to see if it's the burner or the disks that aren't quite perfect.

be sure and do all scans with the same drive at the same speed

it's between your ears, just read a few hundred and look for patterns

As an overall proxy, can i just look at the "Quality Score"?
(I note you got 65 in first scan and 95 in second scan.)
If so, is there a threshhold you want to be over, like say anything over 90 is very good??

Also, the quality scans are subjective to the testing drives' ability to read the discs properly. I wouldn't use the scans as 'the' final word on whether the burn or the media is good. I've had discs that scored well but played back poorly and I also had discs that scored nearly 00 but played back flawlessly time after time ?? Scans are also sometimes erratic in its' scores on the same disc on subsequent scans. So I don't know what it's really telling me .
Just my viewpoint and why I personally don't put too much stock in the scans.

My understanding was that Mitsubishi Chemicals did have CMC make some of their discs back in 2002 for a little while, but they no longer do because CMC did not follow the strict MCC guidelines to manufacture the media.
As for Prodisc made Verbatims, how would you know if made by Prodisc Blu? And how do you know that that is the way you could tell?
Regardless of who is manufacturing the media for Verbatims in Taiwan, I was understanding that they 'must' strictly follow MCC manufacturing process and guidelines.

I didnt even look at that quality score..65..thats crap
QSuite said that media should not be burned at 16x..guess it was right..I burned it at 8x and it got 95..some 16x Verbs

I usually burn 16X media at 12x burn speed. Read somewhere it was better than 8x. Maybe if you have time you could do another scan at 12x and see results.

Thats a confusing thread, but if I understand right I have CMC Verbs:

MAH, PAH, PAP followed by 16 digits=CMC
+ and - in the middle=Prodisc

Mine say PAPxxxxxx on the hub...

Then they are, strangely enough, the better ones. You may have got a poor disk for you initial scan.

Yeah I read that thread before and again now, but there is no one actually coming up with validation as to how they got that info and I was hoping that you could provide the validation Blu.

If I believe what they are saying (posts without actual proof as to where the info comes from), then I've had PAPA codes for all my Verbs and they are all CMC manufactured, or are they really??.

Regardless though, I've had only the best results from my Verbs, soooo, I'll stick to them.

MikeyBK, i've said this a few times here already, but i guess you don't believe me. if you buy CMC manufactured media with CMC Media code (ie CMC's OWN media, not CMC made MCC) there will be a similar serial number in the inner clear hub (PAP, PAH, MAH etc); same goes for Prodisc's own media (a + or - in the middle of the serial indicating + or -). second, Mitsubishi does NOT have a manufacturing plant in Taiwan, so it is impossible for Made in Taiwan Verbatim media to actually be made by Mitsubishi Kagaku themselves.

also, i have a VERY good source who has confirmed this as well. if that is not enough confirmation for you, i don't know what is.

Perhaps CMC and Prodisc does make Verbs in Taiwan, I cannot say it doesn't, just was wondering where the actual verification comes from.
And I do know there is no MCC plant in Taiwan
