I used nero 5.5xxx(4 or 5 updates) long after nero 6 came out, then it wouldn't see my newer dvd burners, I upgraded to nero 6, but 6.3xx was buggy and I found they had updated it to 6.6xxx. It's fully mature and I will wait a while longer on nero 7 to mature. The last vision express update seems to be based improvements in the 7 package. I am too happy with it to consider paying for the upgrade.Last edited by Chewy; 11 Nov 2006, 04:19 AM.Comment

Some users complains about an excessive RAM memory usage of latest versions of nero 6, and in nero 7.
If you have an old machine, or if you are low in RAM, maybe it's better to not update to nero 7.
The main "issue" of nero is that it have a lot of features that most of people never use. If you need some specific feature located only in nero 7, then you can consider to upgrade. If nero 6 is sufficient for your needs, and if you don't have problems, I suggest to retain nero 6.
Besides, I agree with other users to give a possibility to Imgburn. Now that it's able to build ISO files, I use lesser and lesser nero. Actually I'm strongly considering to uninstall it from my computerComment

The only reason I still have Ner0 on my PC is to be able to assist Ner0 users.

QT is required for Procoder 2.
In any event, the point is Ner0 7 is, IMO, just not worth it.

i had to install itunes & quicktime when i got my iPod. removed all file associations and startup items afterwards, wasn't too painful.
i wouldn't have installed quicktime if i didn't have a video ipod; i've come to the conclusion that itunes checks for ipod spec compliance by opening it in quicktime. unfortuantely doesn't work too well with qt alternativeComment

If I even thought about getting rid of Nero Burning Rom, my wife would kill me with the PC. 6.6 Ultra fully updated but would I make the move to 7, probably not. I also used to use it to burn automatically with Dvd Shrink but it's been a long time since I burned a dvd with it.
