Burning DVD Problems

I burn DVD's on a G5 MAc using its drive Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-16D
I have tried buring DVD's of DVD-R and DVD-RW at the lowest speed, but even thought the disc mounts ok once burnt, when it is reinserted into the drive it simply ejects it.

Does anyone know what type of DVD disks I should be using?
