Guess I'm just a retard. Can't seem to get a copy of CARS to backup on a dual layer disk without the thing freezing during playback at the start of scene 21. This is probably the point where it changes layers. A compressed burn works fine on a 4Gb disk. I backed up the movie with VobBlanker no problems. This is probably just a dual layer burning issue because the 4gb non-dual-layer (compressed) one works fine. I'm using Nero7 for burning. Is there any tricks or tips to burning a dual layer movie without the freeze that happens in the middle of the movie?

Ditch Nero for the DL and use Imgburn. Make sure your firmware is current for your burner and use Verbatims for your DL burns.
I'll assume since you are using Nero for the burn you are dealing with a VIDEO_TS folder. Here is a guide.

Thats a yes to DL Verbatim +r, and yes to video_ts folders. Tried the IMGBurn and it worked like a champ. I can't tell you how many Verbatim DL's I've wasted with nero. Thanks a million!Comment

Ner0, sadly, does not respect the authoring of a DVD in terms of sector placement. A terrible waste of money.

You are very welcome...some people find succes with Nero and DL burning, but it is just easier to skip the headache, if you are experiencing one, and use Imgburn.
