    Which DVD+R?

I cannot get my favourite DVD-R at the moment but need some discs. As, I haven't bought +R's since 2003, I have lost track of what are the good dyes.

Can anyone come up with excellent +R dye that is no TY (price is a factor). i don't want 16 x discs as I still burn at 2x or 2.4x.

I am thinking of Ritek R03 as it is supposed to be similar to Ritek G04 which I have used hundreds of time.

Can 16x be burned as low as 4x? I never bought any to find out.

    I have a LG 4167B.

I know the Verbatims 16x +R can. I was getting quality scan scores of 97 and 98 Burning @ 4x on my NEC 3550A

I have a hard time finding the 8x locally, but I agree the 16x usually come out with a nice burn and QS of 97 when burned @ 4x, 6x or 8x.

Unfortunatelty, most of the DVD+R's I can get are CMC or Prodisc which I will never ever get. The Verbatims are TY and too expensive.

I need to do an order and also select a tub of 50 for a Xmas present at the same time (person has a NEC 3530).

All the ones I like are out of stock. So which, in stock DVD-R and which DVD+R?

These are the -R's I am using right now and all have burned perfectly. I am concerned by the recent comments about them. They have also raised the price by 25% .

Thanks but I heard they are not very good and would class it as third class media.

How about these? A bonus is getting a pack of these will get me just 99p postage instead of £4.99.

                  Inifiniti DVD-R (MCC 02RG20 dye)

It comes up as first class media at Digital FAQ.

Thanks. I think I will try them. I will get two packs as I need to get a pack for someone else for Xmas.

I also found these Mirror ones with the same MCC dye and £2 dye. If the sye is the same, should I expect the similar results to the Inifiniti ones.

I received my MCC discs (Mirror brand at £6.55 per 50). It looks like I will burning these at 4x. I have 15 backups ready to burn.

My LG cant but I think my Pioneer 109 can. The first disc burned and the verification/CRC error check went ok (in the LG 4067).

I check out the Pioneer and post anything scans I can do.
