Downloaded trial version to see how it works and it does not. Medium in drive: unknown.we can do an advanced drive change and maybe flash with a newer firmware for the nec 25102004-02-18 NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD> Version: 1.26
this page has all the tools needed, personally I would buy a new burner -
okay, i can try this but tell me why would you buy a new burner and can you give me 2 or 3 to choose from or what to look for?

let's put it in a historical perspective
2003 4x burners and media, some do +, some do -
2004 8x burners and media, more do both
2005 16x burners aand media, all do both
2006 the technology finally matures
a few months ago you could have ordered some 4x dvd+r ricoh media that was designed for that burner
take some time with that page and if you feel the burner still has good life in it
you can update the firmware to a version that will burn almost all 16x dvd blanks
if it's on it's last legs don't waste your timeComment

did not waste time, purhcased new HP 940i installed and burnt 3 DVD's so far, with DVD shrink and Nero 6 that came with burner.
so far so good.
