Unable to Complete a Working Back up DVD

First off I would like to say,
If this is the wrong place, I apologize.<O></O>
    <O></O>
    Now to the problem,<O></O>
Every time I try and burn a DVD, the data is corrupted and I get cycle redundancy errors. I used Nero to burn data onto a DVD, but befor I started the burn process I checked the option: verify data on DVD after Burning is completed, when Nero checks the DVD after the project has been burned to it, it states that the project is corrupted. I have reinstalled my Nero installation, and gone as far as to install the newest version of Nero, still I am unable to create a working full backup of any data to a DVD.<O></O>
I have switched burning programs, such as Nero 6.0 to 7.0, and used DVD Decrypter and all come up corrupted. I have taken out my drive and reconnected everything to verify that it was not a connectivity issue. <O></O>
    <O></O>
    Anyone have any ideas?
    <O></O>

that's an older model drive and I don't reccomend burning at 16x with better new ones

you've done so many changes with nero, I would download Imgburn and try a 4x burn with verify, burn manually, save the burn log

Thank you very much for assisting me with my issue. I downloaded ImgBurn, created a project, then burned it with ImgBurn at 4x / with verify. The image was burned and verified with no errors, Thank You Very Much!
      <o></o>
I wanted to know, should I just for now on burn my backups at 4x, also should I not use Nero for my future backups? <o></o>
      <o></o>
One last question, I am going to buy a new combo drive (CD / DVD) drive in January, what would you recommend for my future backup needs? (Seeing as how you are the "MAN!")<o></o>

nero has it's issues, it's such a huge group of programs, it's easily corrupted, learning to use the clean tools and reinstalling from time to time is essential.

I stick with nero cause it does more than any other burning program. Never upgraded to nero 7 as nero 6 fills my needs.

Haven't bought a combo drive in 2 years, always buy dvd burners, last one was a liteon, it seemed to do well. If you bought a new dvd burner that would make more sense.

Thank you again very much for the information! " last one was a liteon, it seemed to do well", I would have to agree, as I have a Philips burner it has issues so I don't use it. I will look into a new LITE-ON DVD Burner.

          Thanks again,
