Verifying a proper burn

Hi guys!

Finally ordered my TY02 8X DVD-R discs and they should be in soon. I wanted to ask if there is any way to verify that the discs I burn will play properly in stand-alone players (apart from actually playing them of-course). I justed finished watching the discs that I'm going to burn and don't really want to sit thru them again.....

Will checking verify disc after burn option suffice? or should there be something else I should check?

Also, I plan on burning @ 4X OR 2.4X speed as these are the MAX speeds for my 2 burners. Hope this will not be a problem.

do the verify or just pop them in a standalone and skip thru chapters to the end

sometimes a disk that verifies won't even play in a standalone(some like some disks, hate others)
