    Help with DVD/CD Burner!!!

2 months ago my DVD/CD burner started to burn DVDs at 0.88X for DVDS at speeds up to 16X. This drive is only 1 yr old. I called the computer company about it and did what they said, uninstall/reinstall drive and update firmware. I did this and problem fixed.

A few days ago the problem comes back, do same thing, and nothing changes. I also swept for spyware with 2 programs and used norton system software to fix computer errors and still no help.

The strange thing is that when I burn a 4x CD, it goes at max speed at about 1 mb per sec, but with a 4x DVD it goes at 0.88X.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem with out contacting manufacturer because it is 2 mnths out of waranty.
