Hi all, first post, so please be understanding if I talk crap. I've done a bit of a search but can’t find anything authoritative on this problem. Take a drink, this is going to go on for a while.
I used to use Roxio (spit) until I learned the error of my ways, but still have some copies of DVDs I tried to make with it, which stutter/freeze etc when I try to play them. I thought to myself, why not (as part of my learning process) see if I can run them through RipIt4Me, then DVDdecrypter, then burn new copies with DVDshrink, to see if that would produce usable DVDs.
Interestingly, the resultant DVDs play without fault on Windows Media Player... but aren’t recognised at all as having any content when I put them in my Yamada DVD Player (with internal hard disk and burning capability). It just throws its navigational menu up, with one entry called “Video Disk”, which won’t play or recognise under any circumstances. It’s otherwise very tolerant of different types of media etc.
Is there something fundamental I need to learn here about how DVD directories etc work? Somewhere I can begin to look for problems? I’d like to learn more about how all this works.
Thanks!
