Burning failure

Hi i recently download RI4M aliong with Nero. I have been unable to burn due to the fact I keep getting burning failure at 8x and 4x speed. Im a newbie not sure what to do..Is it Nero? Should I try this IMGburn? is it freeware? Most importantly is it idiot friendly to use. Thanks in advance for all your replies
