Thanks. That looks like a good one. I probably should have qualified my question. The only thing I care about is great burns. Don't care if it is loud. Don't care if it is black, white, or silver. Just great burns.
The NEC 3550 is a great burner when fixed with Liggy's&Dee's firmware for bitsetting. I am using version 1Y6 right now. I used Verbatims +Rs for all of my burns now.
It then burns DVD+Rs as DVD-ROMs. Here is a link about bitsetting.
Furi, I've searched threads and it seems like most people around here are in love with the NEC, Liteon, or Benq.
BR7, that link is for DVDrebuilder. Not sure what that means?
Gary and BR7, I assume you're getting quality scans in the upper 90's? I usually burn with TY's from Supermediastore and was averaging 97-98 on most burns with my Benq 1650.
EDIT: Whoooaaa. That was weird. When I first clicked on your link it went to a DVD rebuilder "How to" page. Now I clicked on it and it took me to your scan. Thanks for sharing!

Are you sure I get my scan with it. If it's still doing it you can look at here.It runs about like the BenQ it gets better as it goes. Here are the settings you can use for it

Yes I think it is the same If you do get it I would recommend using the MV9N firmware from C0deKing from what I have been reading it's been giving very good results compared to the stock firmware.I have the lightscribe version so I am using the HV9N version In case you didn't see the link to the firmware click here
