    Unusual DVD Burn Problem

Well a week ago, I was messing around with my graphics card drivers to install an old Driver to play an old program. I have a geforce 6800ultra. Now I gave up and decided to go back to the original driver. Later I decided to burn a backup of a movie (4.3gb), then about 5 minutes into the burn, the dvd drive spits out the dvd and the burn fails. I'm using Nero 7 to burn too. I can burn stuff on dvd that are under 2gb or something. I dunno, it mightve been a freak occurance. I continue burning various things over 4 gigs or 3gigs and they all fail. I wasted a lot of dvd's fixing things. I tried reinstalling Nero, I tried updating my DVD driver, I tried restarting. None seem to work.

Also, previously burn, like a day before, I used a different brand of DVD which I just so happen to use the last of. Now i'm using 4x compUSA brand. A big money saving moment. lol and its a pack of 100.

I tried burning on my laptop with the same DVD and it burns succesfully. But I think it was under 3gigs. I'm going to test out burn something over 3gigs.

Here is the Nero Burn log for the failed attempts.

Even though you saved some money it looks like it costing you headaches...this is your media, terrible.

Your drive doens't see the media correctly...there should be more than just zeroes here.

Yup, drive doesn't like media at all.

      DiskPeripheral : ST3120026AS 3.18 viasraid Port 2 ID 2 DMA: Off
Not familiar with Raid setups, so I don't know if DMA needs to be on here...

It may be cheap media, but it for sure isn't worthless. It works with my laptop even with 3gb's of burning data.

So will it be possible for getting my DVD Burner to accept the media? The sad thing is I'm pressed for money, and pressed for memory on my laptop. So the only choices I have is remove a lot of data on my laptop or tweak with the dvd burner, in which I have no idea of where to start.

Thanks for the reply btw. Anyone else know how I can fix this?

yes it is, I bought 100 over a year ago, I returned them after making several coasters. Newer burners hate crap like that.
I had a plex 712, they don't like 3rd or 4th class media at all
Same with my benq, it will spit out marginal disks, that doesn't prove didly squat.

Anyone else know how I can fix this?
buy better media, take them back, compusa is used to it. Return the coasters with them.
50 good disks is better than 100 bad ones
