    DVD Region mystery

The other day I had a strange burn so I checked everything. I had a broken pin on my NEC 3550 which I used some copper strand to ensure a contact w/ the partially broken pin (#19 ground) this all seemed fine so I checked bios.
Then I checked the status in Everest and it had no details for my NEC just the drive model.
So I checked my Device manager and there was no region set for either of my dvd drives? So I set it and had 1 setting left (which scares me). I still had a problem trying to burn so I swapped the IDE black and grey ends and now everything is fine.
Now I am up and running.

MYSTERY? In my Device Manager it now says I have "Changes remaining:4" for both of my drives.

Which sounds great to me but I wonder if I really have 4?

Is there some way I could have reset this? is it possible

Also, I just updated my NEC3550 firmware with NEC's 1.06. Should I/Can I still flash Dee's modified 1.Y6 firmware. Or is there some other firmware reccomended for the NEC 3550A

    thanks for any comments.

    Cheers
