    lightscribe software?

Evidently, my new lite-on drive did not come with the software to burn with the lightscribe function. What do you guys burn with for lightscribe media? Preferrably something skinny on the pocketbook.

http://www.lightscribe.com/ is a good place to start. My burner came with Nero 6 and its label software supports Lightscribe.

      Hi Huskerfan,

Friend of mine bought a Lite-On OEM and it came with NERO, Lightscribe capable CD ...

      1) If you can't call the place you bought the unit and get a FREE CD shipped to you ... then

      2) Here is FREE software to do Lightscribe ...

My Lightscribe burner came with no software, so I downloaded it from the site. I've burned a few discs with some Verbatim Lightscribe media that I picked up very cheap, but honestly, I'm not that impressed. The design possibilities are pretty limited. I much prefer using hub printable media (TY), which allows me much more latitude...

I believe I will come to the same conclusion but my Lite-On came with lightscribe feature so I thought I would give it a go. I've seen other people's discs' and thought they were pretty pedestrian looking at best.

If it was an OEM drive it may not have had the software with it.

O.K. For anyone reading this in the future. My Lite-on drive did not come "lightscribe" ready. You have to download the software from the lightscribe web site to "enable" the lightscribe feature. I have been scratching my head over this for a couple of days..... Burning my first disc right now.

Was able to burn a disc but it came out very light even at "best" quality. Is there a contrast control somewhere?

Not that I know of. The first one that I did came out nice and dark.

Did you get the contrast enhancement utility from lightscribe.com?

Absolutely essential. Discs take a little longer to burn, but without it the printing is way, way too light..
