Nero Burning Failure

Hi,

I'm using Nero 7 and an NEC ND-3500A DVD drive. Normally I can burn DVDs OK, but I recently started using Dual Layer discs made by Datawrite and I'm starting to have problems. The first one was fine, but the last two I tried failed. Please could someone take a look at the log below and tell me what might be going wrong?

(I also frequently get errors when buring CDs, but these always appear after the CD has been burnt and they always work fine.)

What kind of dvd are your trying to copy?

It's a DVD 9 disc with video and ROM sectors. Is that the information you wanted?

Well the reason I asked about the original is nero won't image hardly any disk with protection of any kind

you would need to rip it as an iso with dvddecrypter

your blanks are defintely too new for your old firmware

that would be a trick, turning a dvd+r into a dvd-ram

probably a glitch in the way they wrote nero 7, my old versions of nero 6 kept trying to bitsett dvd-r to dvd-rom, never a coaster tho, but it had me worried

Thanks for the advice. I think I know what I need to do I'd just like to check that I'm right. Are the following steps correct (I've already downloaded Liggy's 3.07 bitsetting firmware)?

1. Download Binflash for here: http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/#download (I don't know which version I need, Win32 GUI or Win x64 GUI?) I'm using Windows XP Pro.

2. Restart in safe mode.

3. Follow the instructions here: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en...sh/binflashgui

Please let me know if that's correct and which version of Binflash I need and I'll do it.

w32 gui one, I just extract both files from zip to the same folder I create on my desktop

I went through the steps and everything appeared to work fine, so I restarted in normal mode but now I can't copy DVDs at all.

I've got 1ClickDVDCopy which I've realised does have a Dual Layer option, but when I try to use that I get the following message:

DESTINATION: "1:0:0 - _NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A 1.04 [D] (Ide)" is not available. Please choose a different DESTINATION.

When I try to copy with Nero it says there's no disc in the drive.

I can still read and play CDs and DVDs with the drive without problems.

Please can you tell me how to correct this?
