use the nero info tool or imgburn or dvddecrypter to verify that the flash took

have you worn the burner out, it's kind of old, all my 3520's died

How do I use the Nero info tool? I can't find a reference to it in the help files.

The DVD writer's worked really well up until now. I burn standard 4.7GB discs very frequently and I haven't had a failure with one of those for many months (since I started using Verbatim media exclusively).

I've attached the info as an attachment since it was too long to post here.

that's enough to stop any burning program from working

Do I need to remove some of these drivers then? DVD43 is the only one I recognize. I don't know what the others are. Is it safe to remove them?

well it will break any of the software that installed them but I see nothing that I would have on my computer anyway

most are old or crappy programs

Microsoft support is here to help you with Microsoft products. Find how-to articles, videos, and training for Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Windows, Surface, and more.

of course if your burner is dying this won't fix it, you could also test with another computer

I ran Guided Help and then reinstalled DVD43 so I could use 1ClickDVDCopy, but I get the same errors from 1ClickDVDCopy and Nero. What else can I try to get it working again?

There's nothing wrong with the drive. As I said it was working fine with 4.7GB blank DVDs until I installed the new firmware.

dvd43 is about the worst thing you can have running during a burn

                    test a single layer burn

I just burnt a single layer DVD-ROM in Nero and it worked fine. If I tell it to copy the burnt disc though, it says the drive's empty.

I managed to copy a single layer disc with 1ClickDVDCopy today by changing to the new firmware in options, however it took almost 2 hours. It still failed to burn a dual layer disc and Nero still won't copy anything.

Is it possible to go back to the old firmware by flashing the backup file in safe mode like I did with the new one?

what exactly is the commercial dual layer disk you are trying to back up?

might be able to get this going if we knew

1click removes copy protection that nero can't

I've tested it with a few different DVDs, but none of them have worked.

I was trying to backup Live Aus Berlin by Rammstein. I also tested a Keeping Up Appearances and an I'm Alan Partridge DVD.
