Honestly I Hate doing this but I got a problem...

OK, first let me say that it seems like RipIt4Me is a great program and everyone seems to be very successful for the most part. Ok I have uninstall ed this and reinstalled it 4 times and I still have no luck in backing up my dvds. The only two DVDs I have been trying have been Munich and National Lampoon's Dorm Daze.

Here is the exact problem I get, I get all the way to the Clean up the VOBs stage. That works fine, and i open the movie in DVD shrink, and hit back up. I have always burned with Nero and have never had a problem. I searched this forum and found problems with Nero, but those were referring to version 6.6.0.14. The version of Nero i have is 6.6.0.15. I have never had a problem with dvd shrink until I had RipIt4Me installed. The movie will open up fine, and it will encode, which usually takes an hour and thirty minutes before the actual burn starts. Then Nero opens up and tries to begin the burn. Here it just get stuck. There is no error messages and no pop ups. It turns to not responding when i do try and do something. It show the Nero and the status bar and its at 0% and it just says "Writing Lead-in". That is all. Can someone please provide me help?

ripit saves the files from dvddecrypter

    do they play fine?

    shrink's output also?

if you are good to this point then it looks like it's a burning issue

post the last nero log from the bottom

    hopefully there is one?

Hey man, thanks for the quick response. What do you mean shrink's output? It looks the files good. and lets me hit back up. and then lets it does its encoding thing and then on the burn part just like stops. sorry i am really new and may not know a lot about this stuff.

such are the dangers of burning automatically with nero from shrink

are the files in the output temp folder?

well right now i am trying it again, Munich has already been ripped. so RipIt4Me is not open and im just using DVD shrink to open the file and it opened it fine, its encoding the file now, and will begin to burn soon. ill post the results when it is finished.

This is the Nero log, after i got an error message using the burn with Nero feature in dvd shrink. Do you think if i upgrade to Nero 7, that i will still have these problems?

Also, I read about the ImgBurn and you can use that to burn with DVD shrink. I tried doing this as well last night and was unable to find any success. I do not mind going out to get Nero 7. <o></o></not></atapi></hp>

                  waste of money

save it for buying better disks like taiyo yuden or verbatims

your dvd burner firmware is way out of date

boot into safe mode and update with drive empty

try a manual burn with imgburn, use shrink to save the files as an iso

Ok, so after i use this link to update, boot into safe mode and update with the dvd drive empty of all disks?

And in shrink i need say the files as iso files, and then open those into ImgBurn and burn that way?

Everything i found on ImgBurn was confusing that is why i am asking.

The only reason I say Nero 7 is because I already got a copy at my dads house and I can pick it up this weekend. So will Nero 7 even solve my problem?

very slim chance, probably makes things worse

just convert one of the shrink outputs to iso and use imgburn to burn at
4X this time as a test of the burner

there are some drivers installed that may also be a problem

This link towards the end of whichever one you pick, should help you with burning with ImgBurn.

Just out of curiousity, why don't you remove the option (take check mark out) to burn with Nero in DVD Shrink and put in the option in the drop down box to, "burn with DVD Decrypter"? Eliminates Nero completely as it's just not needed for this.
