Burning Issue

I've had this problem for the past few months.

I use DVD Decryptor/IMG Burn to burn my ISO files created through DVD Shrink. My DVD Drive is 12x and my blank media is 16x.

Whenever I try to burn the maximum speed I get never exceeds 1.4x even though I leave the burn speed set to max.

I'm wondering if this is an indication thay my drive is 'burned out' and needing replaced?

This sounds like a DMA issue.
