Problem with my dvd writer. Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

Hello i recently bought a SONY DRU-830A DVD+-R 18x, for the purpose of storage and creating dvds to watch on television. but so far i've only been able to create 2 dvds, and around 10 dvd discs have been wasted in the process.
the brand of dvds i'm using is Imitation dvd+r 16x 4.7gb,2hr
I understand key_medium_error refers to the disc not compatible with the writer? i've been just trying and retrying to write, so two times it worked, most times it didn't. could it be that i did not have enough memory at times?

Trying for successful burns with CMC MAG @ 16x is an uphill climb all the way.

Get the DMA on and lower the burn speed to 4x to use those disks, but buying better media would be well worth it.

ok i tried again with 8x it worked, i can't turn on my DMA though.

don't worry about the dma as long as those buggy nvidia drivers are working

an 8X burn should take about 8-10 minutes
