DVD+R DL Printable?

I noticed some printable Verbatim DL media, however the only way I can see to buy it is in packs of 20. I don't want to spend $60+ as I would only use a few of them.

Any idea if they have 5-packs, or even 10-packs of these? Or any other brand that would be decent to print on?

What I've read in this forum, is that these are the only brand worth using. All others are to iffy. I too was thinking of going this route a little while ago, but then decided to hold off for now. It just seems like there's more of a chance if things going wrong. I thought I read that there could be problems with the second layer and that as time pasts that it's possible the disc would not play properly. I don't know how true this is. Also I didn't like the fact that these disc weren't full hub printable. Any way soup made a real good sticky on how to burn to DL disc. For now, for the long movies I've been doing movie only with DVD-RB. Seems to be working great, but I only have a 36'' TV. I also called them when I was looking for DLs and they said that TY doesn't make a DL printable disc. If you go for it let me know how those disc turn out. Good Luck

Yes but I will not use 20 of them, I'd have like 15 left over, it's wasted money.

Any other ideas?

The only printable ones I can find come in packs of 20...the regular ones can be found in 3 packs and 5 packs.

I have the regulars in 3-packs.

Now, the computer store I go to said that if I use one or two of them I can return them for a reduced price (assuming it's fair). Unfortunately they don't have the Verbatim DLs though. Are Ritek DL's any good? As they have those printable.

Personally I would stay away from those Riteks, here their DLs are rated 3rd class media. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm You don't want to stick with the Verbs and keep the rest for future use? Just curious is this a series or a extra long movie? How about splitting it to two disc or more disc. Just a thought. I just backed up Mind of Mencia season 2 (disc 1 & 2) on to 4 discs, zero compression.

I wouldn't trust my money with anyone else but Verbatim when it comes to DL media....besides the cost of all the discs, you can use them all eventually.

@IPAULO, this is for a DVD I made, entitled Pokémon MegaDVD, I put all 8 of the movie on 2 DLs. So no I can't just split to single layers... having 2 per disc is no more beneficial than carrying around all 8 discs with me!

I wanted printable so I could use album art and not just a Sharpie.

OK I see, well I would stick with the Verbs. I just wish they made their DL with a full printable hub. I wonder how the ink sits on the middle ring? I've been using TY02 full face single layers, their awesome. Well good luck to you on whatever you dicide to do.
