Nero 7 Error - Not enough disc space available

I am new to Nero 7 and to burning generally. I have 4 x 360 MB movies that I wish to combine on one DVD. I have burnt a couple of other DVDs successfully but I keep getting an error message about 90% through the burn process as follows:

    ###############################################
    [02:49:38] DVDEngine ERROR
    [02:49:38] DVDEngine cause: 41 (not_enough_disc_space)
    [02:49:38] DVDEngine source: _VOBS
[02:49:38] DVDEngine description: Not enough disc space available for recording.
    [02:49:38] DVDEngine ###############################################

I am burning direct to disk (I believe) rather than to the hard disk but does this error refer to insufficient hard disk space or DVD space? Both should have ample space. The Sony DVD+RW disk is 4.7 GB and I have about 6 GB available HDD space.

This is an annoying error because the burn takes nearly 4 hours and it has failed twice at about 3 hors and 30 minutes.

    Any help appreciated.

    welcome to the forum

you are doing a conversion from avi to dvd files?

looks like 4 40+ minute ones

first nero has to build temp files of 4.4 gigs then write them to another location to do the final burn

then there's your swap file that might need a little extra space

figure 10 gigs free and then you are safe

using 2 hard drives is the best way to do this with any program

Thanks for that. I increased the swap file and set a large external drive to do much of the work. Success!!!
