    Verbatim Movie Reel Discs dvd-r/+r

Best Buy has these on sale this week and was wondering if this media was more for nostalgia or if this media is worth buying. Since it is made by verbatim I would think the quality would be the same. I have never seen media by them until I saw the add today.

I have a Best Buy gift card and am waiting for another sale on verbatim so I can replenish my blank media stock.

What do you guys think.....yay or nay on this product.

Haven't looked at them yet, but if they say 'Advanced AZO' on it, the chances are very good that they will be high quality Verbs...

Well I just got two spindles today and they are 8X and has a manufacture date of 2005. It also does not have the Advance AZO logo on it, so was concerned that these may be some of those outsourced to Prodisc, you know, the ones with the + in the middle of the ingraved number that is on the clear part of the disc right next to the hole...
        Explained in this thread...

Well sure enough, they are. I hope it won't be like the last spindle I got with the + in the imbedded number. I had to return that batch because of failure after failure. I exchanged it for those that has the PAPA in that number and they were back to the 100% success rate that I have always gotten from Verbs.

I got two spindle because I had two $5 off coupons and got the two spindles for $3.99 each.
Anyways, will let you know how it goes...

BTW...their media ID code is MCC003

Well I just burned about ten with them and all were successful. Tested them on the DVD players and all played fine as well. Will test them in CD Speed, although I don't really believe what the test says, but will give me some more input about these discs.
Just sucks that they are 8X and that they are basically leftover stock from 2005. But they seem to burn pretty good.

Not too bad....97%, but as I've said, the CDSpeed quality test is so subjective. The better gauge of quality will be how well it plays standing the test of time...lol
