Converting problem with Nero and DVDSanta

you seem to know your stuff would you please take time to help with my prob I have been using nero 7 to encode avi and burn to dvd works great for about 3 months now all of a sudden my dvds skip freeze etc I use dvddecrypter to copy my movs so I put discs in and it has crazy read errors so I hear nero stinks and bought dvdsanta to encode but have same prob I buy convertx same prob please help I have sony 18x burner and liteon 20x prob with both

Nero goes through whole process and burns fine no error it's the playback I am having probs with some people have suggested to me today power supply not enough,avi2dvd changed my codecs ,burning to fast are any of these valid? I burned a movi today that play fine till 59min 20 secs then freezes and won't play till 1hr 30secs then rest of movie is fine I go to avi in windows media player11 and 59:30 - 60:30 plays without a hitch is it my burning sorry so longwinded I am kinda new to the whole cpu thing

I did the burn test disc had errors I am defragmenting and updating nero uninstalled avi2dvd

Ditch Nero for ImgBurn. Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning. Especially ensure you use only Verbatim DL blanks.

Ok I dld Imbburn My burner is sony dvd rw AW-Q170A I am in the middle of defrag so I can't try to burn I only have Memorex dvd-r 16x 4.7gb right now and they worked fine with nero untill a week ago when these probs started r my blanks ok or total crap

ok I burn with imgburn but what should I use to convert avi I have convertx and dvdsanta and does anyone know what happened to my computer to make this happen all of a sudden when nero was working now nero and dvd santa have same prob is my prob deff a burn issue and has nothing to do with encoding

Now I am trying to burn at 2x because encode was fine must be the burn I ordered verbatim blanks But until they come I will attempt mem thanks for all replys hopefully this will work

ok that didn't work blu i tried your blueprint for nero dvd test my version is a little diff

aghh i did scan disk in nero dvd speed test and about 12% done it gets straight red so i scanned another one of the movies i had prob with guess where it went red 12% so the theories my friend and i have tossed around r whole bad spindle of media, power supply, or problem on laser in burner r any of these valid is there a way u know of to check my burners lens?


PLEASE SOMEONE HELP BEFORE I LOSE MY MARBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
