New To DL DVD+R and having trouble burning a DL DVD

Hello All. I have been checking out the forum and i haven't found an answer to a problem i am having to burning a DL DVD.

I just bought some DL DVD+R at Best Buy tonight and I thought I would give it a whirl and try to make some to try and free up some space on my harddrives.
I tried using NERO 7 and no luck and i tried using ImgBurn also but no luck.

NERO wouldn't burn my DVD .img File that is on my computer it also managed to Delete it. I did have another .img file of another DVD but it just keeps giving me the same error.

ImgBurn gave me an error at the begining of trying to burn with something to do with the layered cell and I clicked canel and then it tried to continue to burn the DVD. So after 10 minutes of it just saying it was 100% buffering with 0% complete I canceled that burn and that gave me a different kind of error.

Now I bought a less expensive media (yes I realize I should have bought a more expensive one knowing that one would probably work) but it was my first time buying them. I wanted to make sure it would work with a less expensive ones just in case if it didn't work I didn't blow $40 on DVD DLs.

I also made an ISO file w/ the MDS using ImgBurn. Sill no luck and still getting errors. I think the problem might be that I bought a DL DVD with the wrong burn speed.

I am not sure if that is correct or how to tell how fast i can burn DL DVDs?

Is there also a way to slow down a Burning Program to the speed ofI the media that I bought?

    any idea anyone?

I take it that it should not be set to 2.4 then? which means I think might have bought the wrong media then I take it?

Because I am now getting I/O Error with that same stuff just now the INTERPREATION at the bottom is saying POWER CALIBRATION AREA IS FULL

awww thats sad to hear. I love the burner itself i finally want to try and do DL DVDs because I large amounts of data but i want to keep it together and it is to large for normal DVDs. My Rosewill works great at burning regular DVDs (Data or Movie) and normal CDRs also. I just hate to buy a new burner just to do DL DVDs.
