Imgburn will not fix the problems you had last month, starting a new thread
      won't either

post the whole log and we'll go thru a check list to get this fixed

looks like 2 problems, your firmware doesn't like those disks but mostly the nvidia ide drivers are messing up the commands to burn

eureka, it's a samsung drive with leadin problems with -R media?

that may explain why they came out with a firmware so soon after yours?

with those nvidia ide drivers make sure you flash your drive in safe mode

best to try this one step at a time

have you ever tried burning dvd+r's with that drive?

yup i was using +R discs previously, most of them worked fine, until they ran out so i went to buy a new bunch of discs this time being -R i didnt take note of the + or - since the dvdrom was supposed to take both.
ok i'm not really good with computers so suggestion is that i try that flash thing?

that's going to be our best bet to get -R's working right, but we'll probably have to do something a lot more complicated later, get rid of them damn
              nvidia ide drivers

boot into safe mode and execute the extracted firmware and flash the empty drive, trenchcoat optional
