question about dvd media and burn speeds

i was just wondering if the "X" on dvd-+r's matter??

in other words if i have dvd+r from verbatim at 4X would t be just as comparable to the same dvd+r verbatim at 16X????


i notice the higher the burn speed on dvd-+r's the more the cost so i was wondering if the cost difference is worth it.....

any answers out there or thoughts on it

it depend on what type of burner you have and firmware, with benq 1640/55 you can burn 4x at 8x ( not for DL or RW)

much of the 4X and 8X media was better than the newer 16X

some was worse
