The media you are using is considered low grade and burning at 16x is enough to cause a write error alone.

Try a few burns at 4x and see how that goes.

Wouldn't hurt to lower the System Resources while burning (currently at 57%) you don't want anything interrupting that burn.

There is a brand new Firmware for your burner, the link is below.

You also have Roxio installed alongside Nero...they don't always play nice with each other. I would suggest Roxio zapper!

download imgburn and post a log

programs that don't save a good log are useless when it comes to troubleshooting

yes i have tried regular dvd-r,i cant see what the problem could be.im freakin out here,im about to go bye a new burner.i really dont want to have to yet,lol
thanks 4 the firmware update, but its saying target device not found when i try to load it,which is funny because i just ripped a movie with it,somethings gone screwy with it,i tried uninstalling driver and letting windows rebuild it but that didnt work.im out of ideas.

                          re

as far as i know, i do not have roxio.
i had one dvd fail on 5-10 with nero.
then 5-10, 5-11,5-12, ive so far had 7 successfull burns using dvdfab platinum.
                          so all good so far.
i'll keep using this for now and see if i get a fail. if i not, then ill assume it is nero causing my burns to fail.
i seemed to have the same problem with sonic record it now failing to burn and failing to read and such. so maybe these programs are junk? are there any better free programs out there to use?
also, with the burn speed, mine is set at maximum. what does it matter what speed u set it at? ive never changed my speed before. what would it do differently if i changed the burn speed?
then for example, i got a 50 pack of maxell 16x ... so if i burned it at a slower speed, can i still use the 16 x disks? what would that do differently?

                            Slower is best

Yes a slower burn speed means less chance of a bad burn. I buy Verbatim 16X DVD-R or +R's and burn them at 8X as a max speed even though my burner will burn at 16X. I go with 1/2 the max speed of the media when I burn. The diff. between 16X and 8X is about 4 mins. Your firmware will determine how fast you can burn. When you put the blank in ImgBurn to burn the ISO it will tell you in the display window what speeds are suported by the burner. I.E. 4X, 6X, 8X, 12X, 16X I go with 8X or 4X. Time isn't a issue for me, I just want a good burn.

I have the Sonic software and I prefer ImgBun over it.

                              @princess minnie

According to your log you have Roxio's drivers installed...not necessarily the Roxio program as other programs can use the same drivers, my suggestion is still to use RoxioZap to clear your system of the driver which may be interfering with the burn....you can always leave this as a last step if other suggetions don't work first.
