Getting digital breakup at the end of backed up movies?

it seems to be at the end of discs I have edited out the opening credits and ending credits to allow it to fit on a two hour disk. is this a compression problem?

What brand discs are you using and what program are you using to do your editing?

You may be burning too close to the edge of the disc. I have my preferences set to burn 4400 MB,, Discs can be a bit funny on the outer edge.

That is a bit old school...now a days if using quality media and up to date firmware you should be able to get consistently good burn from 8X or higher.

The OP didn't state his media or system specs. I had some discs a while back that had the same problem - burning at 8x gave pixellation towards the end of the movie, but burning at 4x gave a successful burn. Luckily I got this tip from blutach's Golden Rules of Burning FAQ, most probably one of the most knowledgable posters on this board.

the only qualification I would give to what loco said would be to add a quality newer dvd burner
some burners(newer liteon models) don't even allow 4x burning

and I might remind you of rule 2 regarding politness

from what little the original poster gave us to go on, it's impossible to say what the problem was

Yeah...I saw that chewy, but didn't wan't to delve to deeply in a debate. I should have been a little more specific in my response the first time and maybe there wouldn't have been so much confusion.
