Trouble Making A Copy

well, it looks as if i am having trouble making copies of dvd's. i am using a pc with a dvd-rom drive and an external dvd burner.

nero burns the copy successfully, but when i go to watch it, it is glitchy and has alot of skips. so many that it won't even play after about half way through the movie.

if anyone has any ideas. that would be nice.

I have never used a usb burner but copy on the fly isn't the safest way to go even if it is internal to internal.

Do you encounter the same problem if burning a file from the hard drive?

I would try that and see if the results are any better.

You should use Roxio Zap to remove that nasty driver as it can effect nero.

I sometimes use an external burner to backup my DVDs (and I have great results, BenQ1640 + Verbatim media) but in this case the OP is copying on the fly and using a crappy reader and prodisc media (which is not always reliable) and an old burner

I bought an external drive connected via USB and found it to be a nightmare. I ripped it from its shell and installed it internally, and it's been great for me for 5 years now. Pioneer 107D. I also have an NEC.

after using my external burner on 2 different computers, it is still messing up.

i have tried burning from the hard drive, at 2x speed, and using verbatim.

i guess i should start looking for a new burner.
