Burner burning slowwwww!

I added a new DL, dual format DVD burner to my computer a year ago. It burned at 16x and was much faster than my old burner. Lately, it is very slow, burning at 1.2x. Ihave all the settings I know of set at the max burn for each application. It reads as fast as it should, but for some reason burning way too slow on all media I use.

Any suggestions?

It is a BENQ reworked I/O magic IDVD16DLS. Should have a max burn of 16x. The disk I have rate at a 8x per Nero dvd speed

Nero dvd speed test

Since I have my problem fixxed, I did a test with nero of the Drive. Are these good results as far as the CPU usage? I am happy with the burn time since I am using cheap media. Thanks in advance

As much as I know about it, yes, original firmware. Bought as I/O Magic at Staples dirt cheap. Very happy now. Completed a disk in little over a hour last night. It took about 4 hours before reinstalling IDE secondary.
