    Dynex dvd+R bad media?

Ok im sure this is a dumb question but is dynex blank dvd's any good? Cause the way i saw it for $8 you could get 50 at best buy. I figured if i got a few bad burns thats ok cause i only paid $8 (on sale).

Or does it make the quality of picture bad too?

I don't know about "cheap", but I've used Meritline.com for online ordering, as well as Best Buy (which I see you've already been to ). There's a BB 1/2-mile from my house, so I try to catch a sale if I can.

I wouldn't bother. At $8 for 50 they are $.16 ea. Verbatim, on sale at $12.99 for 50, are $.26 ea...Buddy can you spare a dime?

You show me where to buy verbatim for $12.99 and i would be more than happy to spare a dime. The Verbatims were $30.00 here in California. i used dvdindentifier and it said it was first class media.

dynex makes fake or clone disks in hong kong or china and you cannot use the mid code to determine quality

                  where are they made?????????????????????

ok, thanks for all your responses. I have been doing this for years but this is the first time i decided to buy cheap media. Dumb mistake. i thought it would just be burn failures not poor quality.

I just wanted to say one last thing, i backed up one of my original movies and the quality looked good. hmm maybe ill pay for it in the long run. Im just going to throw them in the trash or use them for somethings i dont care much for.

Why not try a scan with CDDVD Speed & see how it turns out.

what about TDK are they terrible?

for some reason in my hometown every price on blank media is so jacked up expensive, except TDK and Dynex.

Usually there is always something good on sale.

california is where they unload the containers and has the cheapest quality media in the world afaik, Taiyo Yuden mostly.
Verbatim sales have been few and far between lately, everybody has been pushing memorex
People are learning what's good, 16x dvd+r verbatim sells out quickly

Probably "iffy" is the best way to describe them currently.

For some non-critical, non-archival video I'm using some TDK DVD+R, which ID as CMC (I know, I know, I was given them ). I'm burning them at 8x with ImgBurn, and so far the dozen I've burned have been OK (i.e. burn, verify, play OK). But these are for projects I'm doing for other people; I have a stack of Verbatims (SL & DL) that I have for my own use or for more archival content.

(As a counterpoint to my "currently" comment above, I have some TDK DVD-RW that I've had for nearly 3 years and are actual TDK media ID (TDK601saku). They've been working just fine, and they get a lot of use for the weekly IPTV shows that I watch - burn, watch, erase, just like VHS tape )

                            My 2 cents,
                            Jim
