    must be a newer laptop? I doubt there is any new firmware to help burn with, if it fails on several of the sony disks, you might try verbatim

    a lot of those drives are bad from the start?

    nevermind, you are using vista and an older version of nero that's not supported anymore

    download imgburn and give it a try?

        I am confused Chewy. Log says windows XP and dma is off and shows a key hardware error. Might this not be just a simple reset of the dma? Or am I just whistling dixie?

            vw, I like dixie, old favorite of mine, whistle away

            actually I think that's how nero identifies vista, even nero 7?

            and 10 minutes into the burn it was over half way thru so I doubt the drive is in pio mode

            reading these logs is more of an art than a science, now imgburn is more of a science
