    Problems with TY Premium?

Has anyone experienced/heard any problems with the new batch of TY premium DVD-R discs?

I was just abt to order some more from supermediastore but read some of the comments there abt the new batch being thinner and giving a lot of bad burns...

    Any comments.... alternative suggestions appreciated.

    Thx.

out of 60 reviews there were 4 bad ones, scattered accross time
the fifth marginal review listed shipping damage, that's UPS/big brown's work

last week officemax's verbatim's were hard to beat

You could also step back to the 8X TY's which are still an excellent choice.

        Hi Whizkid,

I hope when you order you get the good stuff ...

Could you please post back here on your Result.

Boy, I sure hope TY is not giving in to other companies routine and putting out crap.

However, I just opened a batch of DVD-R 8X ... that was giving a bad QSuite (BenQ's test software) reading at 8X (FAILED) ... but did OK at 4X ... and I happen to have gotten those at SuperMediaStore (SMS).

        Thanks,
        G!

            Thanx for the advice everyone!

I'm going ahead and ordering the TYG02 batch from SMS. Will post here once I receive them and get a couple of burns going.

Fingers crossed they work out OK as I'm pretty impressed so-far with the Premium Line from TY and would be disappointed if I have to look for alternatives.

            Cheers

my last 4 or 5 batches of verbatim have been very good, the problem is finding them on sale

day in day out the premium tygo2's are probably the safest economical media to buy

My last batch of TY inkjet printables was purchased two weeks ago. Haven't had a single problem with them. When I have the chance I'll post a quality scan in the eponymous thread...

                    Hi.

The discs arrived yesterday evening and have burnt 14 so far. All burn and verify fine (0 coasters).

So I guess this batch will live upto TY's reputation and keep me happy
