Never had this problem before...

H guys,

I have just bought a 10 pack of Maxell DVD-R only to find that the first two discs I have tried gave an illegal disc error when I have ried to burn using Nero 6. I have been burning for sometime now and not had any problems such as this.

Does this mean I have got a bad batch of dvds???

time for a new burner, that one is obsolete for burning dvd's, better to save it for cd's

Do you mean updatethe firmware Chewy???

I have tried other types of blank media, all of which have worked fine. The illegal warning comes before any attempt to burn anything.

that illegal warning is often because your old burner can't support(doesn't like) the new disks

it may have died? who knows

3 years is a lifetime with dvd burners

When I get back to the PC I'll post the Nero error log and see if that throws up anymore clues. (Will that error log be in the Nero folder?)

There is no Nero History Log in my Nero folder. ???

it's a little hard to find in all that mess, especially if you haven't turned on "show extensions"
