Better way to transfer avi file format to dvd

I transferred 13.4 GB dv file avi format to my harddrive using Roxio 9. Then I transferred this file to three dvds each of of 4.7 GB. My question is if there is a better way to minimize the number of DVDs. Would any one can answer my question. Thank you in advance.

Convert the DV-avi to DVD-Video.Try out DVD Flick. 13.4 GB DV-avi is approximately 1 hour long.It will esily fit as DVD Video into a SL disc at the highest quality.

      Just to add to paglamon,

If you write that AVI file to your DVDs, your stand alone DVD player will not be able to play. Don't you want to edit the master file? You can try the free built in XP Windows Movie Maker. Beside DVD Flick you can also use AVI2DVD, FAVC (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tools...Submit=Search? ) and ConvertXToDVD, though the last one is a commercial one, but very fast and provides great output.
