Generally all the Tech Products that circulate in Asian Market (SE Asia to be precise) are made in Taiwan except few blank medias. The stamp makes hardly any difference now a days..this is an era of TNCs, just make sure that it is from a good brand if you are going for Third Party manufacturers. There are many worthless products available in the market with a stamp "made in Taiwan".
Verbatim's best single layer media used to be made by verbatim/MKM in Singapore,
after they increased production and shifted over Singapore to mostly DL, Tawain and India SL production was outsourced to MBI, CMC Mag and Prodisc. India and MBI have had the biggest problem with quality control, especially earlier, interestingly tho some of the best Verbatims have been made there and India was chosen over tawain for expanded dual layer production, probably partly because MBI wasn't making dual layer for themselves.
I've had nothing but trouble with the LightScribe DVD+R Verbs - which are MIT. Out of a 10 disc spindle 4 where, on the average - bad. I bought the 30 disc spindle and 1 out of 3 so far have been bad (failed to write to disc).
I recently bought the 8x DVD+R DL 15 disc spindle from Best Buy that were MIS - mostly because of what I read here (that MIS were the way to go) and the first project ripped to disc was plagued with artifacts, stuttering etc. Ripped the same project to my MII DVD+R DL and it was flawless.
So, this buy only MIS, MIT mentality doesn't hold water for me at all.

there are always exceptions to the rule, however without some sort of documentation it's hard to compare your experience to others in numerous threads that supply burn logs and quality scans, read/skim a hundred threads or so over a year and it's hard to ignore
