    burning error, unspecified recorder error

hi all, have been having trouble for a while now and am getting frustrated. I get unspecified recorder errors. i have spent some time on this forum and others trying to get some insight.

Heres what ive done so far. Upgraded to nero 8, uninstalled that and went back to 7 same problem. Tried different burning speeds which didnt work. Ive made many coasters sometimes it gets further through the process then others but almost all the time its right at the start it fails. Ive tried with no other programs open including virus scanners.

Ive updated the firmware and drivers. After doin the firmware and opening nero where u have the option to choose current recorder i can now only choose image recorder, my dvd drive no longer comes up dont know why or whether that had anything to do with it? it always used to come up.

Im using LG DVD-R 16x which have worked before and this batch worked when i got my friend to come with his laptop and burn stuff to see if it was the disks.
I had some imation disks they didnt work but have worked in teh past with movie ripping but im not trying to do that.

I also get errors when i try to burn cd's although havnt got any logs of this.

    Logs are now up properly

Doing an image burn worked without drama.

Heres 2 logs from burning dvd's and the one from the image recording. Sorry theyre attatchments i couldnt find how to include them properly.

damn virtual drives, seen some pretty bad problems with them lately

is the sata dvd burner disappearing from device manager and my computer?

might need to look at the controller and it's driver?

            also

                investigate in this order
                dump the virtual drive
                run those registry filter tools
                reboot
see if the drive come back
it maybe dead for all we know, but i doubt it

then we look at the controller and it's driver

will need to know what motherboard and/or make model of computer?

ok i followed what you said and when i ran the filter tools it came up with about 3 (shouldve paid more attention) there was an anydvd one and a pw....something anyway i just followed the prompts. reboot still nothing. It was there this morning haha.

It shouldnt be dead my whole system is less then a year old and ive burnt maybe bit more then 100 discs.

Your manual should show which sata ports are controlled by the jmicron?

                        Who built the computer?

well it looks like the jmicron only does the sata above the pci-e(top sli)
                            and the e-sata

the nvidia controller/drivers are supposed to work well with sata burners
