    ?????????????

your link didn't work and your description was not accurate

I assume you are using the 9.46 drivers and mode is set to ide in bios?

burn manually with nero since it sort of works, those disks were branded/labeled verbatim right? or what name were they sold under?

win/spam/avi has a hard enough time with conversions, forget burning with it
Sorry about the description and link

Here is some info on the mobo:-

I have just now updated to the 9.46 drivers, I'm not sure what you mean by mode set to ide in bios, could you please explain. I'm still very much at a learning stage when it comes to computers. I can't remember what make was on the spindle when I bought the dvd's. I bought 100 and I'm on the last 20 now, didn't have any problems with them till I bought the new mobo which was only a few weeks ago and I must've already been through 70 of the dvd's

I got one Sony dvd- here, nabbed it off my mate. I'm going to install WinAvi now and see if it works

Well it didn't work, it converts fine then when I go to burn it just hangs at 0% but still corrupts the dvd making me a new coaster(as it did with all the others, the program even hanged when I tried a Test Burn) I used Nero to burn the VOB and it worked fine so I think I'll stick with this process using both programs as its still quick. I just didn't want to use convertx to dvd as it takes ages. I still think it is the mobo which is conflicting somehow. Thanks for the help peeps

I just had a look on nvidia's site(sli zone) and noticed a hotfix for the 680i's as they have problems with sata drives:-

NVIDIA hotfix NV121906 – Update for SATA Disk Drives

              Description:
Some NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI "Designed by NVIDIA" motherboard customers have reported experiencing disconnect or write error issues with SATA disk drives. To address this, NVIDIA has released a BIOS update for the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI "Designed by NVIDIA" motherboards that eliminates this bug.

NVIDIA strongly recommends that all customers upgrade their motherboards to this new BIOS, regardless of whether or not they have experienced this bug.

I'm guessing the 780i's also suffer from this but haven't released an update fixing this just yet:/
