            I had burned a lot of cmc mag 16x dvd+r @ 8X w/ nero and the benq 1620 firmware sees it as 16x capable

            I stuck in a dvd-r and burned at 8x as shown in the log

            I did reboot later and then all I had the option for was 4X

              I think the disc are bad, I burn with 4x like you have too when the options are not but they turn out bad later.

                BenQ 1620 does not like -R media, found out through, the hard way & research. Some say later fitmware was supposed to fix it, but it didn't. I even tried reflashing, so for mine I am sticking to +R. Might want to consider a reflash, unless it's working fine with +R.
