I/O device error

Hi Iam trying to rip a disk using dvd shrink. and i keep encountering. this error message.I press open disc and it gets about 2 mins into it and this appears


Dvd shirink encoutered an error and cannot continue
failed to read file "E:\" The request could not be performed because of I/O device error


Any ideas
