DMA problem

when i put the secondary ide channel properties into DMA if available the current tranfer mode is multi-word DMA mode 2. I have never seen this before. Also when i try and burn a dvd it gets to 96% and 32 seconds left then counts down to 25 seconds jump back to 32 and counts to 25 and just keeps repeating that for about 7-8 minutes and finally fails. whats up with this.

multiword dma-2 for dvdrw is normal.
96% seems its having difficiulty closing the disk try different media, try slower speed.

multiword is actually bad, not as bad as pio mode tho
