Burning to DVD

hello all, i wonder if anyone can help me? my wife and I have a number of videos we have saved from the net and stored them in windows media player 11,we want to burn these to dvd if thats possible? We have tried doing this but it keeps saying that they are not proper video files. Is there any way that we can watch them on our dvd player. As you can tell we are both newbies so sorry about our ignorance.

hello im not sure they are mostly sport videos we have viewed on the net and saved them in windows media player

What is the extension at the end of the file name? EG: .VOB, .AVI, etc.

they all end with mpg. Do they have to end with avi to burn them to dvd?

No, in order to play on a DVD player, they need to be VOBs.

Convert them to DVD format using DVD Flick or SUPER (both freeware).

hi thanks for all your help,i have now worked out how to do this. My last question is what are the best dvd+r/rw or dvd-r/rw discs and what speed would be best. thanks again.

I use Verbatim DVD+R. You should read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.
