I got a new Cannon vixia HF10 for Christmas. I am trying to use it to record Church Services and burn it on a dist so the peopel that missed can pick one up. When I get it Saved it says it is to big for the Disk. I have changed it from the High Resolution to the Low and it is still to big. The Show is a little over and Hour long. Can Anyone help me out??

What type of disk did you use. DVD is 4.2 gig and a DL is around 8.4.Star Baby Girl, Born March,1997 Died June 30th 2007 6:35 PM.

There are plenty of transcoding software available. Ner0 Recode, DVD2One, DVD Rebuilder would be three to try.

The discs I am using are 4.7 GB/ 2 hrs in SP mode.
I have DL the AVS convertor and it seems to work, but it is just a trial version. IS there a free version of the same thing that will work just as well? What Type of File does the video need to be in so that it wil play on all DVD players?

To play on all players, it needs to be in standard DVD format - IFO, VOB and BUP files.
Try AVIDemux as a free converter.

It's unfortunate no one answered the above post. I need to learn how to burn a DL disc, too. I don't have much experience with forums, and don't know how to work them to find what I'm looking for. I've been poking around here, forever. Can anyone direct me to a discussion of how to work with blank DL discs, either here or other forums? I have video files too big for singles, and I don't want to lose quality, so I bought DLs, but keep failing at playable DVDs.Comment

"Mark's DVD Bitrate Calculator"is a free no strings attached Freeware program that I have used. Do a search for it. I've actually recorded a school related event that was 2:45:28 long. But you must follow the program instructions to the letter. Youtube has a video if you would like to see what its like. And it really worksComment
