Wondering if dvd movies (NOT ORIGINALS:backups/dvd-r) will/should play on the xbox/ps2 consoles, or if a modchip of some sort is required. I heard that the later model of the PS2 system have been region coded and modchips are available for these. However, even if it is, shouldn't my region 1/all dvd backups play on them if the PS2s sold in the US are region 1 as well. I ask because my dvd backups are not playing on my xbox. I have yet to try them on the ps2
FYI: they do play flawlessly on my PC (haven't tried them on a standalone player yet though).
