win dvd playback problems

when i play a dvd on my pc the movie will start then i get a message that my player has performed an illegal operation and shuts down. when i reopen the player i get create overlay failed, lower screen resolution or color depth and try again. it was working fine until my pc crashed and i had to reload my software. the movie plays okay, with a few glitches, if i install the pc friendly player on the dvd and run. any ideas.

u could use PowerDVD but following the instruction .
