    Laptop DVD/CD-RW TOSHIBA SD-R2102 1A15 firmware

I have installed the new firmware for my laptop DVD/CD-RW combo drive "TOSHIBA SD-R2102 1A15". I used the firmware I found on the page http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...mwarepage.html , tried both RevA and RevB. When I flash the drive, the software says result: good. But none of them works. My drive just refuses to become region free. My current region is 2, since I mostly watch region2-movies. But I would like to be able to watch regon1 as well. I can only change region 5 times. Please help me.
    /Andreas

You used the firmware linked as "Patched 1A16 RPC-1" — right? What does CDVDInfo say about the status of your drive? What utility are you using to overcome region-protection in your software player?

      Hi svensktiger,

All you need is the software "DVD Region-Free".

DVD Region-Free is an unique, effective and easy-to-use DVD tweaking tool.

It allows you to watch all region DVDs on any DVD drive( especially RPC2 ) even if it has been locked.

You don't need flash firmware which is sometimes dangerous, useless or unavailable.

DVD Region-Free also disable region check for popular software-based DVD players such as PowerDVD, WinDVD and CinePlayer.

Other features include Region-Free for RCE DVDs, Macrovision-Free, Operation-Free and run self at DVD players startup automatically.

You can download it at http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDRegionFree10.exe
DVD Region+CSS Free - Remove any DVD copy protection, such as Region, CSS, Sony ARccOS, etc.
DVDFab - DVD copy software, copy DVD to DVDR perfectly!
DVDIdle - Extend lifetime of your DVD drive!

joegib - no I did not use the software "Patched 1A16 RPC-1", I used the one above all the "patched" ones, I must have misunderstood. Are these actually the origianal firmwares? Could it be that I, thinking I was installing a patched one, installed the original over and over again? That could be it. Ill just try the "Patched 1A16 RPC-1" one. Thanks!
