HELP with SCSI Toshiba SD-M1401

Hi, I urgent need help making my scsi Toshiba SD-M1401 region free. I am running a windows XP pro syste. I have downloaded the firmware version 1009. When I used a booted to ms dos using a windows 98 boot disk and tried to flash the drive it gave a message that the drive was not detected and said i need an aspi manager loaded in my config.sys. So I went to www.bootdisk.com and used scsiboot.exe to make a scsi bootdisk and copied the aspi files to the 98 bootdisk. I then booted from the floppy and tried to flash the drive but it still did not recognise the drive. Please help me make this drive region free.
